Also not to forget, there are hundreds of social bookmarking sites such as del.icio.us, reddit, furl, yahoo bookmarking etc. by which resources such as a web directory can get some better exposure and also this helps in getting the site well indexed and get better strength to its pages. A blog directory also works in a similar way to the web directories and they are also a part in social bookmarking.
An internet marketing blog which regularly update content and ping into social bookmarking sites get the unique traffic through something called feeds. A few blogs also rely on a blog directory for some traffic as these directories also have the facility of pinging and working well for the blogs. So social bookmarking is great way for exposure!
